This week I’ve finally brought several designs to life that I’ve been working on for quite a while. It’s helped me to move on to the next stage of my project and re-evaluate some designs from a new perspective.
A lush green plant table repeat pattern and a lady who’s either catching well positioned rain or throwing some confetti in the air. I brought these two projects together to create a lady who could just blend into the background. But what can I do with her next that’s not been done to death?
I once spent a fair amount of time knitting petal shaped appliques. It was fun playing around with increasing and then decreasing stitches over and over. Now when I open up a cushion out pop knitted bits crawling over each other trying to escape incarceration.
I missed my Thursday deadline last week (oh my gosh is it Monday already?!), I don’t mind so much because I was enjoying making and designing too much to write about it. So here are some of the ideas I’ve been playing around with.
I wrote last week about picking up long lost projects and developing them further using new skills. So in that spirit I’m going to take my crochet applique and make a gif, a fabric repeat pattern, and a chickie print baby grow.
An insight into how a moments inspiration was taken from a watercolour painting all the way through to a fabric print concept for a button-up shirt.
